Cynthia Burnette

Bio

Cynthia Burnette joined Haeggquist & Eck in 2022 as an Executive Assistant.  She brings a passion for amplifying marginalized voices and lengthy experience in the legal profession to the role.  

Prior to joining the firm, Cynthia spent three years at Northwestern Mutual, where she served as Director of Operations and Client Servicing.  In that role, she supported four Financial Advisors and overhauled all processes and procedures to streamline efficiencies and implement new technologies. Cynthia also founded the Diversity & Inclusion Council in 2019, as well as the LGBTQ+ Affinity Group in 2021.  In 2022, the council received Northwestern Mutual’s DE&I Champion award in recognition of their efforts. 

Cynthia also brings experience as a client services specialist supporting four law firms with outsourced administration across San Diego County prior to her position with HAE.  In those roles, she oversaw firm operations and managed such functions as billing, financial management, accounts payable and receivable, and facilities and operations management. 

A native of San Diego, Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Management from San Diego State University and an Associates of Art and Sciences in both Economics and Business Administration from Grossmont College. When she’s not at work, she enjoys rollerblading, taking her lab retriever Butters to Dog Beach, and spending time with her partner David.
