17 Things We’re Thankful For

Seventeen years ago, Haeggquist & Eck began with just $5,000, courage, and a vision to create a law firm where women could lead and fight for what they believe in. Today, we are proud to reflect on all that we’ve built together with our clients, colleagues, and community. As we celebrate 17 years, here are 17 things we’re especially grateful for:

  1. Standing alongside more than 400 brave individuals who trusted us with their stories.
  2. Recovering hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of our wonderful clients.
  3. Growing from a two-person firm to a 20-person team of diverse, talented individuals.
  4. Being named one of San Diego’s Best Places to Work.
  5. Having half of our attorneys recognized by their peers as Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers.
  6. Being recognized as one of the Best Law Firms in America.
  7. Becoming a leader in trauma-informed law.
  8. Founding the HAE Fired Up Foundation, which gives back to survivors.
  9. Our founder publishing the best-selling book Fired Up: Fueling Triumph from Trauma, helping others find their voice.
  10. Being one of the only law firms with a Survivor Advocate on staff.
  11. Remaining women-owned and women-founded.
  12. Working in one of the most beautiful offices in one of the most beautiful cities.
  13. Families and loved ones who support us in doing this meaningful work.
  14. Attorneys who trust us enough to refer their clients and cases to us.
  15. Donating 1% of our fees back to the community.
  16. Providing community service hours, including pro bono legal services.
  17. Continuing to evolve with the rapidly changing legal landscape.

We are deeply grateful to every client, colleague, and community partner who has been part of this journey. Here’s to the next chapter—and to continuing to stand up, speak out, and fuel change together.
