Michelle Moreno joined HAE in September 2024 as a paralegal where she supports both the legal team and clients throughout the litigation process. Her role includes drafting correspondence, managing discovery, and handling various aspects of case management. With three years of experience in the legal field, Michelle has previously worked in plaintiffs’ personal injury law as a receptionist, litigation assistant, and litigation paralegal.
She earned her BA in Sociology: Law & Society from the University of California, San Diego. Michelle’s passion for law was inspired by witnessing the disparities people of color face in the legal system. She firmly believes that being part of the system is essential to driving meaningful change. This belief led her to join HAE, where she was drawn to the firm’s work in employment law, specifically cases involving sexual harassment, sexual assault, workplace retaliation, and discrimination. Michelle said, “. I wanted to work for a firm that truly embodies the importance of caring for clients and being there for them during a very difficult process.”
Michelle chose to pursue plaintiffs’ work because she wanted to connect with clients on a personal level and help them achieve justice. One of her proudest accomplishments is her rapid progression at her previous firm, where she moved from receptionist to litigation assistant within three months, and eventually became a litigation paralegal. This experience reinforced her belief in the significance of paralegals and strengthened her resolve to excel in the field.
As a first-generation college graduate, Michelle takes great pride in sharing this milestone with her family, viewing it as a collective achievement. She is motivated to guide younger family members, showing them that hard work can overcome limitations. Michelle is fluent in Spanish and a beginner in American Sign Language (ASL).
