Girl Scouts San Diego has filed a lawsuit against Ferrero U.S.A. and its subsidiary, Little Brownie Bakers, alleging the companies refused to honor their existing cookie supply agreement and attempted to impose a unilateral 22% price increase in 2024.
The complaint alleges that the attempted price increase came despite an existing contract governing the terms of the cookie program, which serves as the primary funding source for leadership development opportunities for thousands of girls across the region.
When the supplier attempted to change the pricing structure, Girl Scouts San Diego was forced to make an emergency transition to a new cookie baker. According to the lawsuit, the disruption resulted in substantial lost revenue for local troops and threatened funding for programs that support girls’ leadership, entrepreneurship, and community service.
