Andrea Yoon is a legal assistant on the Haeggquist & Eck (HAE) team. Andrea graduated with a Bachelor of Science in English with an emphasis in law from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Prior to joining HAE, Andrea interned at the California Innocence Project where she assisted clients and staff attorneys.
Andrea has wanted to be a lawyer for as long as she can remember. Her interest in the legal field grew during her time as an undergrad when she added law as a focus to her English major. Since graduating, she has become drawn to the profession more than ever. When she entered the workforce, she wanted to make sure that her labor went towards something productive and important.
Andrea chose to pursue plaintiff’s work because she wanted to learn about every corner of the law, and standing up for victims has always been an area of the law which greatly interested her. “I was instantly drawn to the culture and dynamic of this firm,” said Andrea about why she joined HAE.
Andrea is a San Diego native and is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys Torrey Pines Gliderport as the perfect backdrop any time of day for studying or watching sunsets. You’d be surprised to learn that Andrea practiced tae kwon do for years and earned a black belt.
If Andrea could have dinner with anyone in history, it would be Sonia Sotomayor, who has been her idol for as long as she can remember. She was eight years old when Sotomayor was appointed, becoming the first Latina woman on the Supreme Court. She remembers thinking in that moment that this incredible woman was blazing a path for all the girls like her.
