Paralegal

BIO

Hope Fletcher-Sibbald is a paralegal supporting the Haeggquist & Eck team and clients through the litigation process. She provides case management, research, and document preparation. Hope brings seven years of paralegal experience working for personal injury and employment law firms.

Hope holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Creative Writing from San Diego State University and a Paralegal Certificate from the University of California at San Diego. Hope was inspired to pursue a paralegal career after hearing from family and friends who had been paralegals for years that her joy for writing and editing combined with being very detail-oriented were a great match for paralegal work.

After trying other types of law (criminal appeals, trusts, probate), Hope chose to pursue plaintiffs’ work because she wanted to do work that really helped everyday people. She enjoys helping people fight against big corporations who think they can toss their employees aside when they are hurt, sick, or injured. Her dedication to this profession has only deepened with time as she realized the work she does helping attorneys has the power to shape and change people’s lives for the better.

Hope was excited to join HAE because she wanted to work for a woman-owned firm, and she wanted to work on employment law cases that involved discrimination, retaliation, sexual assault, and harassment. She believes it is such important, meaningful work to be trusted with someone’s case as they go through something so traumatizing, and she leaped at the opportunity to work with so many experienced professionals in this field.

One of Hope’s most exciting accomplishments in her career so far has been writing a demand for $1.25 million dollars that was accepted by a defendant’s insurance company without any fight. She was named Volunteer of the Month twice by the University of San Diego Name and Gender Marker Clinic.

Hope is a native of San Diego, a wife, and a mother to a little boy. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, swimming, and walking down La Mesa Boulevard with her son.
