Mary Hegwood
Intake Specialist
BIO
Mary Hegwood joined HAE in August 2024 as the Intake Specialist. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science. Previously to joining Haeggquist & Eck, she worked as a third-grade teacher for five years. Although Mary is new to the legal field, she was inspired to transition into a new career path. Reflecting on her decision, she said, “I wanted to continue supporting people as I did with my students—whether by being their voice, offering a listening ear, or helping them get the support they needed.”
Coming from a female-dominated career, Mary wanted to continue her journey surrounded by strong and passionate women. She says, “I love what HAE stands for, the fact that it’s a woman-owned firm, and the people they defend. I knew this would be an opportunity where I could keep learning and continue my passion for supporting others.”
Outside of work, Mary enjoys cooking, drawing, reading, and spending time with friends. Her family is based in Colorado, so she enjoys visiting them, as well as catching up with friends in Scottsdale, Arizona. Mary is also an avid traveler, enjoys live music, walks around Mission Bay, beach days, and exploring new restaurants with friends.
