BIO

Risa Castro is a paralegal at Haeggquist & Eck, LLP, where she provides vital support to clients and assists the attorneys through all stages of litigation. With over 20 years of experience in the legal field, Risa has worked in various areas of law, including class action litigation, civil litigation at the District Attorney’s office in Texas, criminal defense, product liability, and construction litigation in both California and Florida. She also brings federal experience from cases across the United States.

Risa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from the University of San Diego, as well as a paralegal certificate from UC San Diego. Her passion for helping others inspired her to pursue a career in law. She is thrilled to be a part of the HAE team, dedicated to seeking justice for clients. Throughout her career, Risa has focused primarily on plaintiffs’ work, driven by a deep commitment to helping others.

During her time with the District Attorney’s office, she played an instrumental role in securing justice for victims of human trafficking. Risa’s diverse legal background has provided her with invaluable experience, which she is eager to apply in her current role at HAE to make a meaningful impact for clients.

Outside of work, Risa is an avid health and fitness enthusiast, enjoying activities such as lifting weights, practicing yoga and Pilates, and taking walks in the sunshine. She also loves cooking, trying new recipes, attending concerts and Broadway musicals, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
