Shanell Logan is a Legal Assistant at Haeggquist & Eck, LLP, where she supports the firm’s attorneys and staff in delivering trauma-informed, client-centered legal representation. A first-generation college graduate, Shanell brings a strong academic foundation and a deep commitment to social justice to her role.
Shanell earned her M.Sc. in Social Science of the Internet from the University of Oxford, and holds a B.A. in Sociology from UCLA and an A.A.-T in Sociology from San Diego Mesa College, all with honors.
Her passion for the legal profession stems from a desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives—no matter how small. Drawn to plaintiff-side employment law, Shanell sees her work as an opportunity to help individuals navigate systems that have often failed them and to contribute meaningfully to justice and equity.
Before joining HAE, Shanell’s academic research focused on the ways societal structures contribute to injustice. Transitioning into the legal field allows her to apply that understanding in practice—shifting from analyzing systemic inequities to actively working to dismantle them. She was inspired to join HAE because of the firm’s women-owned leadership, survivor-centered mission, and commitment to doing law differently.
As a first-generation, low-income student, Shanell considers completing her undergraduate and graduate degrees among her proudest accomplishments. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, doing puzzles, reading, spending time at the beach, curling up with a good movie, and celebrating her friends’ art and achievements.
